A New Chapter for Moon Lake Arts Collective
At last, we can share the news!
As plans for the Moon Lake Arts Collective developed, an unexpected opportunity emerged—one that
offered more room, greater visibility, and an even stronger future than our original plan to construct a
new building. Rather than build from the ground up, LRAC will transform the Moon Lake School
​gymnasium into the new home of the Moon Lake Arts Collective.

On September 1, Little River Arts Council and the Town of Mentone officially signed the lease agreement,
opening the door to this exciting new chapter.  The gymnasium gives MLAC room not only to begin,
but to grow. The renovated building will provide a spacious ceramics studio, a larger flexible studio and
gathering space for classes, workshops, exhibitions, and community events, along with a welcoming,
front-facing home for the Little River Art Gallery.

This new direction allows us to make the very most of the remarkable support entrusted to this project
while breathing new life into a building—and a campus—that already belong to the story of Mentone.
What was once an underutilized gymnasium will become a lively center for creativity, learning,
connection, and community.

​This is more than a change in location. It is an expansion of the original vision: more space, more
possibilities, and more opportunities for artists, residents, and visitors of all ages to gather and create.
We are deeply grateful to the Town of Mentone, our donors, grant partners, members, volunteers,
advisors, and everyone who believed in this project and helped carry it forward. Renovations are
beginning, and if all goes according to plan, the Moon Lake Arts Collective will open its doors in 2027.
The old gym is about to become something entirely new—and we cannot wait to welcome you inside.
