Two local artists will be at the Linger Longer Pavilion Saturday, July 31st, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., as part of Little River Arts Council’s pop-up art markets.

The pop-up markets will continue through the summer and fall at the pavilion behind the Mentone Inn and Bed and Breakfast. This webpage will update closer to time of each popup.

Kevin Chitwood is a native of Fort Payne. Even as a child he loved crafting. But was never a traditional artist in the sense of drawing or painting. Later in life he found a love for “functional” art. He started with polymer clay jewelry. And had some success. But his true love was woodworking. He loved creating things with his grandfather when he was a kid. So he found epoxy resin. This medium would let him meld the two worlds. Creating art from wood and coloring it with resin. Maintaining the functionality of his pieces, he creates charcuterie boards, cutting boards, coasters, and even cheese slicers. Most recently, he is working on a line of geode wine coasters. His specialty is realistic ocean art. He lives in Fort Payne with his wife, Jaime, his six year old, Somara, and their two dogs and cats. Instagram
