The Pocket is part of Georgia's Crockford-Pigeon Mountain Wildlife Management Area and participants are required to purchase a Georgia hunting or fishing license in order to legally have access to the area. The fishing license is the least expensive option. The cost for non-residents* is $10 for a day pass, plus a $2.50 service fee. Permits must be purchased online in advance of the paint out. (There is not an attendant on site to check permits, but, if asked by a ranger, you will need to show your permit.)
